How to use Position it Perfect Posters
The Position it Perfect poster set is instructive artwork for your walls. These posters educate your dancers, serve as a constant reminder during class and also enlighten visiting parents. Here are some ways you can use our posters, if you come up with other ideas share them with us!
Create Stations:
Place the 5 Posters in different areas of the room. Divide your students in equal sets and start them each at a poster, then rotate until they have all completed the positions. You can walk behind and check each position before you shout “Rotate!” Let them skip, walk or hop to the next station to make it fun.
Focus One at a Time:
Present one Position each week during class. Use the poster as a tool to help the students visualize the position perfectly. Call up one student to do what’s on the poster and then help them correct each area using the statements on the poster. Then let the whole class join in. Add it to the wall and then each week add to your set, at the end of the 5 weeks you’ll have a class with perfect positions and some reminders just in case they forget! Even your older students can benefit from going back to the basics.
Put up as a decoration:
This poster set is artistic enough to stand alone as art on your walls. Put them in the waiting areas and you’ll see how much parents are paying attention. They may have thought that holding your arms out to the side was easy until they see the work that goes into second position. You can teach parents with these posters and let them enjoy the interactive art work on your walls while they wait. They’ll appreciate the investment they are making in their child even more. Also for waiting rooms the Relevé Studio Essentials poster set can help you communicate with parents professionally and artistically. Check out the Studio Essentials line.
Use Position it Perfect Posters as marketing tools.
Have you ever been sitting in the doctor’s office waiting room trying to keep a child entertained? Well, these posters are the perfect solution. Put your studio information on the poster with a sticker or staple a business card to it. Then take a set or two to the local Doctors office, Chiropractor, Dentist or Daycare. Put one in each office or in the main waiting area, divide up the set(s) for maximum use. The pharmaceutical companies do it, so can you! And most health care providers will be extremely receptive to your work with children and the fight against obesity in your studio! Take some poster hanging tools with you, like tacks, clips or sticky tac to help get them up quickly! It’s a good, long term advertising tactic that will cut through the clutter with a captive audience. The high quality lamination on these posters will keep them looking great for a long time. And don’t forget to give the front desk a brochure or two for the parents who ask about your studio.
How to use the Are you Ready for Class? Posters
Teachers know how difficult is to keep students dressed correctly for class. From new students (and parents) to the most experienced sometimes we forget that function has to come before fashion in class. The wrong clothing can cause distractions or worse yet injuries. Dance studio owners and teachers can use the Are You Ready For Class? posters to quickly and visually demonstrate the right basic dancewear for class. Plus, there’s a write in area for specific requests, such as “light blue leotards for senior ballet class” or “buy your shoes at Davis Dancewear”.
Post the Are You Ready for Class? Posters in Waiting Areas, Retail areas, Locker/Changing rooms.
Use them all year as reminders, not just at registration. And if you have a student who is consistently breaking the rules, use the poster as a place of conversation with the student and parent to make your discussion go smoothly.
